Seven Little Acts of Pet Friendly Kindness
Here are a few things you could do in your spare time:
1.) Offer to set-up local collection bins in Annandale,
Falls Church and Alexandria, VA.
2.) When you buy pet food for your own pet, buy a little extra pet food for
a pet in need and donate it to Feed the Petz, Inc http://www.FeedthePetz.org
3.) Offer to help with any of our upcoming events.
4.) Offer to distribute Pet Food Pantry
flyers and newsletters in the neighborhood to local pet friendly businesses, animal clinics and pet stores to build community
awareness for the cause.
5.) Write a letter or testimony for Feed the Petz, Inc.'s website if it has made a
positive impact in your life in some way.
6.) If you sew, make a handmade pet toy or blanket and donate it to
Feed the Petz, Inc. for a pet in need.
7.) Offer an hour of your time especially on our distribution days.
You may be surprised in regards to how much you can get done in an hour.
--a pet food drive where you collect food in your neighborhood or office for the
pet food pantry.
--a yard sale where you have a yard sale and donate the monies to benefit the pet food pantry.
--an
event where you host a luncheon or dinner, sell tickets and the proceeds from the event will be donated to the pet food pantry.
Event/Food Drive Combo: Sponsor a Pet Food Drive in conjunction with another event by using four or
more cans of pet food as a ticket for full or reduced admission such as party, dinner, theatre play, school dance or company
picnic.
Checkout Donations: We need the help of local stores. Retailers can encourage customers to support
a pet food drive by making contributions at the checkout counter (e.g. $1 or a can of pet food). This can be done by setting
up a collection bin or money jar and placing them next to the checkout. This is a great way for thousands of customers to
contribute.
Did you know that billions of pounds of pet food goes to the landfill on an annual basis? A huge percentage of the pet
food is perfectly fine.
Feed the Petz, Inc. Pet Food Pantry relies on pet food donations from pet stores,
Grocery stores, retail stores, manufacturers and wholesalers. We collect canned pet food, dry pet food and pet related
items of all kinds. These items are distributed once a month to pets in need.
We will gladly accept short dated items, torn bags, dented cans and items heading for the landfill.

TAX DEDUCTION: The 1976 Federal Tax Law (H.R. 10612) permits you to deduct all of the costs of producing, packaging and
delivering your products — plus up to 50 percent of the difference between the cost and the fair market value.
COST SAVINGS: In salvaging pet food and other pet related items, your company eliminates dumping costs.
INVENTORY CONTROL: A pet food donation can help reduce your surplus of hard-to-move inventory, and inventory that
can be eaten but not sold.
COMMUNITY GOODWILL: Your support of the Pet Food Pantry's mission will earn your company the respect of the
community.
PROUD STAFF: Employees feel good about their company's role in making a difference in the community.
SAFE FOOD HANDLING: Your pet food donation will be safely stored by trained staff.

programs are monitored to ensure that donated product does not reenter the marketplace.

LEGAL PROTECTION: A disclaimer is signed by our recipients which protects the organization and our donors.
Get Your School or Classroom Involved
We are looking for teachers to organize a pet food drive. Students will be encouraged to collect pet food for pets in
need within the school and the community.
If your class would like to get involved, please contact us
at (703) 941-0052 or send us an email at FeedthePetz@aol.com This could also be a great way for students to complete their community service hours.
It Doesn't Take Much
Basic Idea: You don't have to give up your favorite foods or stop dining out to help
a pet in need. It really doesn't take much at all. If you really want to help but don't have the resources to do so, you can
start collecting change in a jar from pockets as you do laundry, pick up pennies from the floor, pick up coins from between
the sofa cushion and wherever you find loose change. Every little bit helps. You'll be surprise in regards to what you can
collect and do.
Extreme Idea: Wanna go extreme? Skip a Meal, “Feed a Pet”:
Consider donating the money that you would have spent on lunch to feed a pet. Most often a $8 bag of cat food might feed one
or two pets for a whole month.
Check out this handsome doggie. He's cute, talented and loyal. He can sit, lie down and roll over. Try giving him a pet
and watch how he responds. You can keep him entertained by playing ball or giving him a bone. Reward him by giving him a treat.
To get him to sit, double-click your mouse on the ground close to him. Double-click again to get him to lie down. Then hold
your mouse button down and make a circular motion to tell him to roll over.
